This is an excellent debut thriller and a fast read. Eskens gives us an unusual plot. A young college student Joe Talbert has to write a biography for English class and seeks out his subject at a nursing home. The staff set him up with Carl Iverson, a convicted murderer who is dying of cancer. As Inverson's story unravels, new questions about his case emerge. Did Iverson murder Crystal Hagen 30 years ago or is her murderer still on the loose?
