Man Booker Shortlist

The Man Booker Shortlist has been announced. The Man Booker Prize is awarded to the best original novel written in English and published in the UK. For many years, the prize was restricted to authors from the UK or the Commonwealth, however it has recently been opened to authors of any nationality. Last year's winner was The Sellout by Paul Beatty, the first American to win. This year's prize will be announced on October 17th. The shortlist includes three American writers, two British writers, and one British-Pakistani. This year's shortlist:
