Third Place Commons Game Night

November 1, 2017 - 6:00pm

Lake Forest Park

Join the fun with a group that meets every Wednesday evening to play a variety of board & card games. Most games last less than 90 minutes so we can enjoy a change of pace. Bring a game you like to play or a new one you want us to try out together.

Game Night convenes in the Stadler Room on the first Wednesday of the month, and at tables in the Commons the rest of the month. Come join the fun!

Jodie Hollander, with Susan Rich and Katy E. Ellis - My Dark Horses

November 1, 2017 - 7:00pm

Ravenna

This group poetry reading, headlined by a reading from My Dark Horses by Jodie Hollander, is the ideal way to get indoors from a cold November night. Hollander’s debut collection is set against the emotional backdrop of the turbulence of coming of age in a family of musicians. The poems are studied, yet beautiful and compelling. Joining her will be Susan Rich, author of Cloud Pharmacy, a winner of the PEN USA Award for Poetry, and Katy E. Ellis, author of Night Watch, the winner of the Floating Bridge Chapbook Competition.

Reading Through It - White Rage

November 1, 2017 - 7:00pm

Seward Park

The Seattle Review of Books, Seattle Weekly, and Third Place Books Seward Park continue our book club exploring who we are as Americans, where we're going, and how we might fix our greatest problems. Reading Through It meets on the first Wednesday of every month.

Our November selection is White Rage by Carol Anderson. From the Civil War to our combustible present, White Rage reframes our continuing conversation about race, chronicling the powerful forces opposed to black progress in America.
