TPB Literary Book Club - This Is How It Always Is

February 26, 2018 - 7:00pm

Lake Forest Park

After giving birth to four boys, Rosie and Penn decide to try once more to conceive a girl. Claude, the newest addition to their boisterous family, decides as a toddler that, when he grows up, he wants to be a girl. The family readily accepts his decision, assuming it will pass, but difficulties arise when he encounters the wider world. This big-hearted novel full of loveable characters deals with serious social issues while keeping a light tone, striking an excellent balance between humor and empathy.
