Join us for the launch of Minnie Collins of the AAWA's newest book, Palm Power

Minnie A. Collins, author of The Purple Wash, is published in Raven Chronicles, Fly to the Assemblies: Seattle and the Rise of Resistance, Emerald Reflections, Threads, Crosscurrents, Quiet Shores, Blackpast.org, Washington Center Newsletter, Washington English Journal, and Innovation Abstracts at the University of Texas, Austin. Among her venues are Writes Read, a monthly program at Seattle's Columbia City Library, and Elliott Bay, Third Place Books Seward Park, and Open Hand bookstores; Northwest African-American Museum, and Onyx Fine Arts Collective exhibits.

The African-American Writers' Alliance is a diverse and dynamic collective of Seattle-area writers of African descent, provides an informal and supportive forum for new and published writers. AAWA has published four anthologies: Sometimes I Wander in 1998, Gifted Voices in 2000, Words? Words! Words in 2005, and Threads in 2010. Members will read from their work.
