The follow up to the #1 New York Times bestselling An Inconvenient Truth.

An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power is a daring call to action, exposing the reality of how humankind has aided in the destruction of our planet and groundbreaking information on what you can do now.

Join local Climate Reality Leaders Dana Campbell, Maris Abelson, and Mimi Bertram with special guest Jamie Margolin as they present Gore's up-to-date slide show. Together these leaders, all trained by former Vice President Gore, will discuss the science of climate change and how citizens can advocate at the grassroots level to solve this tremendous, urgent problem.

Vice President Al Gore, a leading expert in climate change, combines cutting-edge research from top scientists around the world with photos, personal anecdotes, and observations to document the fast pace and wide scope of global warming. He presents, with alarming clarity and conclusiveness, that the fact of global climate change is not in question and that its consequences for the world we live in will be disastrous if left unchecked.

Follow Vice President Gore around the globe as he tells a story of change in the making and offers real actionable steps that you can take to help reverse the damage. This riveting and thought-provoking book is a must-have for everyone who cares deeply about our planet.

Maris Abelson is a mother, teacher and healthy lifestyle consultant. She’s been an advocate for sustainability for the last twenty years, working as an environmental lobbyist, cofounding a Hawaii nonprofit for food security and sustainability, and serving on the board of a coalition against pesticides in New York City. She lives with her family in Lake Forest Park, WA.

Mimi Bertram is a mother, outdoor enthusiast and teaching scientist. Trained as an oceanographer, she has been working with climate scientists for the last 15 years as the Program Specialist for the UW Program on Climate Change. Occasionally she has the opportunity and time to teach undergraduates about the natural world and to connect current climate science to high school teachers and students. She and her family are also part of the Lake Forest Park community.

Dana Campbell has a PhD in Biology and scientific interests in evolution, butterflies, marine science and citizen science. She teaches at UW Bothell and is curator of the Encyclopedia of Life (eol.org). Dana lives in Lake Forest Park with her fish-biologist husband and two teen daughters, and is lucky enough to spend every summer outdoors at the beautiful UW Friday Harbor marine biology labs.

Jamie Margolin is a 15-year-old environmental/human rights activist. She is a plaintiff in the youth v. gov lawsuit on climate change in Washington State, and is working on passing Gas Pump Warning Labels in her city of Seattle and building a movement of teenagers to solve the climate crisis. Jamie is also a writer. She loves writing Op-Eds, and has been published in The Seattle Times, Writers Digest, The Huffington Post, and Teen Ink. When she isn’t working as an activist or a writer, Jamie loves losing herself in movies, plays, and good books. Oh yeah- and she’s a high school student with way too much homework.
