Author Event Booking

After twenty-five years in the business, Third Place Books hosts one of the largest author events programs in the region. In addition to nationally (and internationally) touring authors, we also take pride in hosting events for local authors. We take great pride in curating our author event series and providing arts programming for our community, and are fortunate to join many bookstores, libraries, and non-profit organizations in Washington State in connecting authors with readers.

We generally reserve our events program for newly released books (within 2-3 months of publication). If you are a self-published author, we urge you to think ahead. Third Place Books has a robust promotional process for getting the word out about your event, but this does not guarantee an audience. When proposing an event, please give careful consideration to how you intend to promote it. And, as a courtesy, please let us and other bookstores know when you are attempting to schedule multiple events around Seattle. (Knowing when and where you'll be presenting elsewhere will give us a better sense of when and where to schedule you.)

IF YOU ARE AN AUTHOR, independent publicist, or consultant interested in proposing an author event at Third Place Books, please fill out the Google Form linked below. Read the instructions attached carefully. If your book is self-published or otherwise available only on consignment, indicate so in the form below. More information about our consignment program can be found here. Please give us as much information as possible about your local connections, past event sales, and your relationship with our store. Additional information can be emailed to Third Place Books cannot accept event pitches via phone or postal service; such requests will be discarded.

IF YOU ARE WITH A PUBLISHER that has a previously established relationship with Third Place Books, your main contact for all three store locations is Author Events Manager Spencer Ruchti (
