Seven Steps to Defeating your Reading Slump

We’ve all hit a wall at some point in our reading lives, right?

Sometimes a book is so good it’s impossible to follow up. Sometimes, a book is so bad we forget that reading is fun. Sometimes a book is good but I’m not in the mood to read it and now I’m 139 pages in and I refuse to put it down because no really, it’s very good, I just don’t want to read it right this second, but I will tomorrow hopefully, or maybe the next day.

My point is that there are any number of reasons you might find yourself struggling to pick up any book at all.

I’d never done that kind of work, and it interested me a bit, but the best part was that as the Children’s Book lead at the store, I could help determine which kids used books will do best for our customers.

Gorgeous Classics

Reading “classic” books never goes out of style, and there are so many reasons customers come in looking for a new copy of an old favorite. Check out these gorgeous and affordable new editions:

How to Get Into. . . Lydia Millet

After the holidays, we all start with a little desire to do something different for the year ahead, even if we don't strictly call these changes "resolutions." And maybe the new thing you want to try is cracking open the book of an author with an overwhelming amount of work, which is where the Third Place Books staff steps in to help narrow down your options!

Audiobooks are my favorite way to pass the time on the way to work, and some books just lend themselves to audio production. They also make a great holiday gift!
