The future of literature in America is fueled by small, independent presses and their dynamic teams. These publishers take risks in their acquisitions and introduce readers to some of their favorite writers in world literature, identifying potential for cultural phenomena (and outright strangeness) that often runs against popular trends or any financial bottom line. As a booksellers, we cherish the bonds we create with small publishers, and are often the first in line to champion their work.
On March 9th, join us at our Ravenna neighborhood store for a celebration of independent publishers, weird and meaningful literature, and the long future of publishing. The evening will include presentations from 11 indie publishers from across the country about new books, old books, and what makes these publishers unique. New and essential titles from each publisher will be available for purchase. Join us afterward for drinks, reunion, and casual conversation at The Pub at Third Place. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required in advance.
