A Fabulous Failure: The Clinton Presidency and the Transformation of American Capitalism (Politics and Society in Modern America #155) By Nelson Lichtenstein, Judith Stein Cover Image
$39.95
ISBN: 9780691245508
Availability: On our shelves now at one or more of our stores
Published: Princeton University Press - September 12th, 2023

I think much of our current social and political ills can be traced back to the garbage that was the 1990's. Of course, who better symbolizes that than Bill Clinton?

The authors take on the realities of the Clinton administration, and its ushering in of unfettered neoliberalism. I know that word gets thrown around a lot, but it's right here folks. Clearer than ever.

Published: Astra House - June 20th, 2023

At the heart of Alejandra Oliva's story as a translator and activist, between pages of colonial and bureaucratic brutality, is the idea that translation is ultimately a collective act, bringing everyone to the table to experience the humanity at the center of the immigration crisis.

Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin By Timothy Snyder Cover Image
$22.99
ISBN: 9781541600065

Published: Basic Books - April 26th, 2022

This is not a new release but if you have wondered about Ukraine, its history starting with WW II and the struggle over who shall own and control this part of the world, this book is for you. I read this book years ago and since then it has been updated with a new afterword. Snyder is the premier authority regarding this never ending conflict and provides insightful background to the current conflict. A must read for those looking for answers and reasons behind this struggle. I highly recommend this book.
